Every August, National Farmers Market Week celebrates the important role farmers markets play in strengthening local communities, supporting small businesses, and connecting people with the farmers and makers behind the products they love.
For us, it's much more than a celebration, it's a chance to honor where the SallyeAnder story began. Long before SallyeAnder products found homes across the country, they found their first customers at local farmers markets.
Founders Karen and Gary Austin began sharing their handcrafted soaps with market shoppers who were looking for natural, effective skincare made with real ingredients. Each weekend brought new conversations, new connections, and valuable insights into the everyday skin concerns people were experiencing.
Those conversations became the foundation of SallyeAnder. By listening to our customers, we created products with purpose, using trusted ingredients and thoughtful formulas designed to care for your skin naturally.
Our journey from farmers markets to becoming a trusted skincare brand has always been rooted in the community. Meeting customers face-to-face allowed us to receive immediate feedback, and develop products that people genuinely needed. We have always chosen natural ingredients, avoided harsh chemicals and artificial fragrances, and focused on creating products that were safe, effective, and gentle enough for the whole family.
Even after all these years, farmers markets remain one of our favorite places to connect with our community. There's something special about meeting customers in person, answering questions, introducing someone to their new favorite soap, and hearing how our products have become part of their daily lives.
